What's so hard about being pregnant and working out?
Here I am at the 6 month mark of being pregnant! Hard to believe in 3 months we will be meeting Baby Jaworski (name still being decided.) The last 6 months have been amazing and challenging. The fact that my body is able to grow a human being blows my mind, but I absolutely love it. I am happy to say I have continued to work out daily since day 1 of being pregnant. Has it been easy? No! Has it been worth it? Absolutely... so far! So, what has been so hard about working out while being pregnant?
It is NOT the fact that I am carrying 15 extra pounds around. Although it is challenging and eye opening that everything is harder when you are bigger.
6 months pregnant and what AM I doing for workouts?
I run with JJ almost every day! We try to do 3-4 miles depending on how hot it is. After we run I usually lift and doing a few other things in our home gym. My favorite workouts lately include jump lunges, jump squats, air squats, planks, dips, and jumping jacks. I also do the stair stepper and rowing machine at the gym.

It is NOT the fact that my body is working overtime to grow this little girl. In fact, this is fascinating to me and only makes me want to continue to workout so my body can be healthy enough to help grow this baby and result in an easier delivery and recovery.
It is NOT that I am so tired some days because I wake up every hour to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Actually, working out makes me forget how tired I am most days and give me an extra pop of energy.
It is NOT because most of my workout clothes no longer fit and I'm uncomfortable during my workouts. I can get over this as I know I will be motivated to fit back into all of my little running tops after she is born.
It is NOT the fact that my running buddy, JJ, sometimes runs so fast that my pregnant self cannot keep up- but I will continue to run and walk with him because we both love it!
So- what IS hard about working out and being pregnant? Let me tell you...
It is hard for me to workout and not push myself 100%. I love the feeling of pushing my body to the limit. It is so rewarding and being pregnant I am not able to do that. This only makes me even more motivated to continue to incorporate fitness into my daily schedule after she is born.
It is hard for me not to lift heavy. I love lifting and I love being able to increase weights as I get stronger. Being pregnant I have to be very careful lifting although I do still continue to lift in moderation with very light weight. I cannot wait to gain my strength back post- baby and push myself to lift heavier.
Finally, it is hard and frustrating for me to see perfectly healthy people not taking advantage of being ABLE to workout and push themselves. This only motivates me more to work harder towards my goal of becoming a personal trainer and to never take for granted my health. Even if I am growing a child inside of me- I am still ABLE.

I have to brag about Jake. He has worked hard on our home gym and it is one of my favorite rooms in our house! I love that we can workout in here as a family (JJ included).
