7.5 weeks left- how I still find love in fitness
I have 7.5 weeks left (hopefully) and I still find just as much love in working out as ever. In fact, I might just love it even more after seeing so many positive effects it has had on my pregnancy. My doctor says that staying active is one of the best things you can do while being pregnant and she anticipates an easy final few weeks and delivery as a result. We will see! So what's been up in my pregnant fitness world??
I love this quote. I hear so many times a day that people would love to workout but they don't have time. Reality is- you DO have time so make the time!
Daily runs or walks with JJ. We both start the day at 6am with about a mile walk. Right after work we also try to run 3-4 miles or walk for 45 minutes if it is too hot to run. JJ has been so great for me and baby girl. I love seeing him so excited and I love the way it makes me feel after a long day of sitting at work (sidenote: sitting all day makes me feel miserable.) We also try to do a short family walk before bed. This has become a fun tradition that we can't wait to include our new family member in!
People ask me "isn't running uncomfortable?"
Not for me! I have been running/working out consistently since I found out I was pregnant in December. I also have not had to get a belly band and my doctor said it is not necessary unless I feel like I need it- so for now no band for me!
Weight lifting- keeping my muscles strong during pregnancy is very important to me. Weight lifting throughout pregnancy has kept me from having back issues, swelling and injuries. I generally do weights 3-4 times a week after running. As mentioned in previous post I have had to really cut down on how much weight I am lifting. I have been using 10lb free weights and 12lb kettle ball. My general rule of thumb is if it hurts something other than burning my muscles, then I need to stop.
Other miscellaneous workouts I have been loving are hiking with Jake and JJ, stair master at LA Fitness, and the rowing machine. I am still doing jump squats, jump lunges and planks as well. I am anticipating these becoming very hard in the coming weeks though.
I have been extra thankful for Jake being my sidekick during home workouts. I just love having a husband who knows the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle.
My plan for the next 7 weeks?? Keep working out! I can't imagine the grogginess or stiffness I would feel without my daily workouts. My goal was to stay active my entire pregnancy and I am confident I can keep it up for 7 more weeks with some modification if needed. I can't stress enough how much staying active has helped me the past 32 weeks. There are many days I would love to just lay around all day- but once I workout I feel amazing and refreshed.
So to answer the questions I get every single day...
I am almost 33 weeks pregnant.
I feel great!
Yes I still run, lift and workout and yes I love it and my doctor approves.
As much as I like being pregnant, I am ready to be able to tie my shoes easier, push my baby in a stroller rather than lugging her around in my belly, lift heavier weights and push myself during workouts. I have a feeling we have a big, athletic girl inside of me so I am looking forward to introducing her to our active lifestyle.

Have a great week!
