Cheers to the fittest year yet
Hello 2016. I have declared you the fittest and fastest year yet for me. I have never been more motivated than I am now since having Scarlett 4 months ago. 2015 was a unique year for me with fitness:
-I spent September and October figuring out how to be a mom and went crazy without working out. We took LOTS of walks these months and got NOT A LOT of sleep.
- November and December I got back into my fitness game. Running, lifting and other cardio. Still feeling the pregnant body deep down but slowly rebuilding my muscles. Spent a lot of time in our home gym squeezing in workouts whenever I could. Some with Jake, some with JJ, some solo.
The past 2 weeks I started Crossfit. Man- why have I never done it until now? By far the best and hardest workouts I've ever done and I love it. I love learning all the Olympic lifts and really pushing myself.
I was hesitant to post the photos below but Jake said I should... The first one was the day I got cleared to workout (8 weeks post baby) and the second was 6 weeks later. Hardwork does work! Can't wait to see where I am in a few months.
I've got some big fitness goals for 2016...let me share them. I brought these goals up on New Years day and Jake said some of them should to be measurable and I should look at them daily so I divided them up into two categories:
Non-Measurable:
- 2016 will be my fittest and fastest year yet
Measurable:
- Do a spring race- either Carmel or Hoosier Half in Bloomington
- PR at the Mini Marathon (faster than 1:52)
- Do 10 pull ups unassisted
- Squat 215x5 (I squatted 215 in high school and I'm only at 145 now)@
- Do the Tri-Indy duathlon in August
- Do a fall race besides HOC
- Continue Crossfit
- Jake and I also want to move our home gym into the garage and get more weights so we can get extra wild during our workouts
- Buy new workout shoes. This has gotten shoved to the bottom of the priority list
