A bigger reason to run

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone had a great, active weekend. Even though the weather was not ideal, I managed to log 10 miles for the two days. Saturday JJ and I ran 3 miles, and today I ran 4 miles then grabbed JJ and ran 3 more. We are really ready for warmer temps consistently .

JJ get so tired after runs. He falls asleep everywhere! Baby Jaworski is also doing great! I am 18 weeks and feeling good. I still get occasional exhaustion, but overall I've felt good and kept up with all of my workouts.

I often get asked why I like to run or why I like to workout. The answer is easy for me. The endorphins from my workout make me feel amazing and working out has become a part of me, a part of my daily schedule and a part of my family. We use fitness to spend time together, stay healthy and reach goals together which are three things all families should have on their radar (in my opinion).

Another reason I truly love to run and workout is because I know there are people out there who are sick or injured who would give anything to walk, run, or workout but they physically cannot. These people are my motivation daily. I am a young, healthy person who has every ability to stay active and I try to never take that for granted. This is also why I love organized runs that support good causes. When hundreds of people pay , train, and complete a run in honor of someone with cancer, or an injury, it is sohumbling.

I am really lucky to work for a company that supports our community. The past two years a group of people at my company have come together to support one of our colleagues who needs it and trains and participates in the Carmel Mararthon weekend in celebration of that colleague. This year, the group is supporting someone who we work with whose son was born with a very rare case of epilepsy. Her journey as a mother has been so touching and inspiring. As a result, a group of runners have been running on Tuesdays and Thursdays after work in preparation for the Carmel Marathon weekend on April 18th. Jake and I are going to run the 8k this year even though my schedule has not allowed me to do any of the training runs. My company created a webpage below to support our co-worker and her family. I encourage everyone to click the link and read her story. This is why running for something bigger is so important to me.

Also, here is the link for the Carmel Marathon weekend. I ran the half last year and loved the course. With being pregnant and planning on running the Mini in May, this year I'll be running the 8k with Jake! This event is very well put together. Sign up by 3/31 for the cheaper rate.

Below are some pictures of me running in races that are some of my favorites and support good causes!

Carmel Half Marathon last year. Time: 1:55. In celebration of a co-worker and her son with Autism.

Hoosiers Outrun Cancer! One of my absolute favorite races in Bloomington because everyone is running in honor/memory or celebration of someone else.

Hope you all have a great week! When you don't feel like working out or being active, think of all of those who would do anything to be able to.
