Any day now and now a week old
I started to write this as my last pregnancy post last Monday and titled it "Any Day Now" and then my world changed and now I am finishing this post while our perfect 1 week old daughter lays on my chest.
On September 2nd at 12:47pm Jake and I welcomed our tiny fighter into this world. She made sure to put me through the hardest (felt like I sprinted an uphill marathon) 3 days of my life before taking our breath away. Meet Scarlett Isabelle Jaworski- 7lbs 12 oz and 22 inches of perfection:
My final pregnant days of fitness:
I felt great for 40 weeks. My last week of pregnancy consisted of daily walks, light weights and I capped it off with a 2 mile run the day before I went into labor. I don't regret a single workout I did during these 40 weeks and can already tell that my recovery has been a breeze because I stayed in shape. I went into labor on 8/31 which was my final day of "being active." Jake, JJ and I went on a walk that evening even though I was in so much pain....it was the last walk for our family of 3!
Scarlett is a week old. I am counting down the days until I can jump back into my hard workouts. Until then I am easing back into things and trying to walk a little everyday. Once the weather cools down this week I should be able to log some actual walking miles, and do some longer stretches and core work.
I am even more excited for some of our upcoming events this month. Scarlett, Jake and I will be walking in Hoosiers Outrun Cancer in Bloomington with my family, the Alzheimer's Walk in Indy and the ADA Walk in Indy! Stay tuned for how these turn out with our new family memberš³.
Exciting news:
Jake got me the BEST "push present" I could ask for. He got me a membership for crossfit Fishers and I couldn't be more excited to start in October! I am really looking forward to this new challenge.
