I'm Back!

Last Thursday I went to my doctor for the first time since having Scarlett and last Thursday she cleared me to workout! No boundaries- I am just free. I left that appointment on Cloud 9- feeling like I could do anything! I was not 100% sure I would be cleared since I had so many stitches but sure enough everything was healed.

That evening Jake got home around 6pm, I fed Scarlett and hit the road running. I went alone...no stroller, no dog. I just wanted to go with no worries or restrictions. I went out a little too hard and I knew this after I heard "8:53" for my first mile. I knew I needed to slow down but I was SO happy to be out there. My lungs burned...oh so badly but I didn't care. I finished that run and it was a little under 3 miles. I felt like I could have cried I was so happy from the endorphins.

I missed Scarlett, Jake and JJ on my run but it was so refreshing getting some "me" time after 6 weeks. I already felt like a better mom when I walked in the door after that run.

Here it is 5 days later and I have worked out everyday except Saturday when we were traveling and in Bloomington. Here is a breakdown of my workouts:

Thursday
Ran 2.6 miles alone
Arms, back and shoulders (very slow) with 10lb free weights
Stretch and planks

* felt really good except for my lungs hurting

Friday
Ran 3 miles alone
Did some free weights
Stretched and did planks again

* a little sore from the day before but felt good

Saturday
Traveled to Bloomington for the IU game. No workout

Sunday
Went to LA Fitness for the first time in 8 weeks. Did 20 minutes on the stair master, dips, pull ups, leg extensions and some lat pulls.

* I felt surprisingly good and did the same weight and levels I was doing 8 weeks ago

Monday
First stroller run with Scarlett. We did about 2.5 miles, lunges, arm dips and some planks.

Tonight (Tuesday) I plan to go out and run solo when Jake gets home. I feel so lucky to have his support and help. I am beyond grateful that he is as passionate about fitness as I am, therefore does everything he needs to so I can go out on runs and workout. He has been getting his workouts done at 6am when me and Scarlett are still snoozin!

Jake and Scarlett @ Fort Ben last weekend!

I plan to keep running and doing free weights as much as possible until I feel ready to start Crossfit. Stay tuned!
