The beauty of exercise
Happy Friday! It sure has been a long week- but lots of successful workouts happened this week. I capped off the week with an early morning at LA Fitness doing squats. I was super happy with doing 135 10 times! Let me tell you though, I have been working on squat gains for the past year. Jake is my motivator for these- he has the strongest legs I have ever seen.
This is absolutely the most beautiful time of the year in Indiana. One of the best ways to get out and enjoy all the leaves changing is to get out and run, walk, or bike. I have been trying to take full advantage of the limited time we have left to get outside and workout. I try to go out right after work and run 3-6 miles. I get so much joy out of this because I am getting a workout in AND I am able to see all of the beautiful trees. Yesterday Jake and I did 2-a-days and I was very satisfied with my 2nd workout which was a run after work. I was able to get all 4 of my miles under 9 minutes. My goal is to run a half marathon with all of my miles under 9 minutes. I am thinking about Monumental in a few weeks- but we will see.
I encourage you to get out this weekend and just be active. It doesn't matter how you do it, run, walk, bike, scooter, rollerblade, skip- whatever you want! I promise you it will bring you so much happiness seeing all of the colors, the leaves, and feeling the brisk air. If you live in Indy I highly recommend going to Fort Benjamin State Park. It is loaded with trails, trees and open space to be active. If you live in Bloomington, I recommend campus, Lake Monroe, or Griffy. You can't go wrong. We will be missing this in a few months when we are snowed in :(.
We are heading down to Bloomington this weekend to celebrate one of my longest friends, Kelly, get married! It is also homecoming down in Btown- so lots will be happening down there. Enjoy your weekend and get outside!!
